Joseph has been in the tourism and hospitality business for the past 34 years. His background includes the management of hotels and resorts, golf courses, restaurants, timeshare and condominiums. He has extensive background in the start-up and continued long term success of resort management, rental and sales.
Most recently he was the President and COO of Vacation Resorts International; a privately held timeshare condominium management company with over 145 locations throughout the U.S., Mexico and Canada. He was solely responsible for the growth of client contracts which ultimately made VRI the largest non-public timeshare management company in the United States; with a highly successful sales, resales and rental programs totaling nearly $50M annually. During his tenure there, VRI grew from approximately 35 resorts in 1989 to where it stands today.
Prior to joining VRI in 1989, he was the Vice President of Resort Operations for publicly traded Fairfield Communities from 1983 until 1988.
In July of 2007, Mr. Takacs formed TheMVPService, LLC, a company dedicated to building a “Community” for timeshare associations throughout the United States with services including purchasing, Sales Services and HOA financing.
He holds an MBA from Anna-Maria College in Boston and is currently licensed in 19 U.S. states as a Real Estate Broker (a title he has held since 1983) as well as a Community Association Manager (CAM) in Florida. He also holds a Registered Resort Professional (RRP) designation from the American Resort Development Association (ARDA). Joseph has served on numerous Boards of Directors for timeshare and condominium associations dating back nearly 25 years.
In addition, Joseph is an accredited Professor at Emanuel University in Oradea, Romania; teaching in the Griffiths School of Management. The current undergraduate curriculum that he leads includes Entrepreneurship-Successfully Launching New Ventures, Fundamentals of Selling-Customers for Life, Foundations of Financial Management and Organizational Behavior. He is also teaching Corporate Finance and Organizational Design and Analysis in the Masters of Management program at Emanuel.
Joseph has been married to Dana 21 years and has 4 children; the first of which is attending college at home in Orlando.
